Fiam & Environment: a consolidated partnership

One of the main aspects regarding environment protection is the disposal of city and industrial waste. Fiam has been involved in this problem since 1998 when the company started the diversified pick-up of waste which includes common plastic (PE and PET), hard plastic (PP), exhausted batteries, paper (by already using recycled paper), cans, dry and wet waste. Nowadays 80% of the company's waste are diversified: this number goes beyond the aims that the Italian Government has established with Ronchi law decree which foresees for each territory a waste diversification by 35% within 6 years from the date it entered in force. Fiam has always shown a great commitment also for mechanic work waste, recently confirmed by 2003 results: -23% disposal of oily emulsions, thanks to the change of cooling liquid; -22% disposal of absorbent materials on the tool shop by using rent rags; -26% of wash waste and of exhaust solvent thanks to the servicing of the washing machine; -88% of exhaust oils having eliminated some in-house precessses. Less waste, less dumping, less pollution: in this way Fiam confirms its role, ever more important, as "environment partner".
