Fiam always researches tightening solutions with the aim of improving the quality of the assembly product, increasing the productivity and ensuring operator safety in the work place. Fiam R&S has designed a new silencing system for the air tools, basing on totally different concepts in respect to solutions used up to now. It’s a new device that guarantees remarkable noise reduction produced by air exhaust of the screwdrivers. The realisation of this new system demonstrates again the importance of ‘innovation’ in the Fiam world especially concerning ergonomics and healthiness of work place. Its particular construction and its internal geometries produce, in fact, a selective reduction of the sound spectrum given by the exhaust compressed air. Briefly, the waves, that make up this sound spectrum of compressed air in exhaust, entering into the device before their exhaust, are ‘compressed and excited’ in order to cause a resonance effect. This effect allows the choice and the reduction of some spectrums of dangerous sound frequencies. The system, patented by Fiam, ensures a remarkable noise reduction of the air tools, which level is therefore placed very much under the limits established by the actual European standards.
