Fiam Autovite world continues its development. The last novelty is an interesting tightening/un-tightening unit. It was designed and carried out for an important American company, which has production sites in Italy and in east Europe. It is a complete workstation, useful to tighten and to unscrew the valves of different models with the aid of an operator. The ergonomic study of the workstation is always very important: the workbench guarantees in fact the maximum safety and highest comfort of the operator. The operator doesn’t intervene directly in the tightening/un-tightening operations; consequently he isn’t exposed to effort and fatigue: he only has to place the parts to tighten and he has to start up the machine, so that it carries out automatically the tightening cycle. The versatility represents another important advantage of the machine, which is able to adapt itself to different valves and so it allows to speed up the productive cycles. High precision of the tightening ensures the quality of the operations, even though the tightened parts have variable features. In practice, this Fiam solution foresees: work bench, that has the wheels with locks; fastening slide installed on a column support which carries an electric nutrunner motor BL 40/25 MDW with computerised torque/angle control; bi-manual start button and safety device for the operator consisting in a window in plexi-glass that goes automatically down with the start; different types of templates for the 3 types of valves to be tightened and a sensor indicating that the piece is present; electric power unit BL-L-3 to give correct feeding parameters to the electric motor; selector of tightening programmes. To complete this solution there is a control unit TOCS-TAC that programmes, manages , controls and monitors all tightening/un-tightening the entire cycle, thanks to the transducer and the encoder integrated in the electric nutrunner motor, thus permitting to modify both the parameters and the tightening programmes.
