Fiam receives further acknowledgment of its major achievements with respect to the extremely important and increasingly current issues of "Quality" and the "Environment". The company and its Quality Management System (according to the demanding ISO 9001:2000 - "Vision 2000" standard) and Environmental Management System (according to the recently updated ISO 14001:2004 standard) have once again "passed" the audits, held last October, with flying colours. Worth mentioning is the thoroughly innovative way in which the Quality Management System was audited, i.e. adhering to the process-based management that Fiam has been implementing for some time according to the model proposed by the Vision 2000 guidelines, producing some clearly positive results. The new "process-based" approach has indeed proved a winning one, enabling the company to meet customer needs with increasing efficiency and competitiveness. The Environmental Management System audit also revealed Fiam's concern with respecting the "principles of sustainable development": technological innovation is actually pursued with due respect for the Environment where we perform business and, above all, where we live, demonstrating how these two aspects are tangibly and perfectly reconcilable. The path taken by Fiam leaves us in no doubt and the certification is further evidence that the company is committed to developing an organization based on processes and, more important, on the people who handle and carry out these processes every day.
